At 117Speed we offer stage 1 remapping software upgrades for all vehicle makes and models to enhance your driving experience.

Stage 1 remapping Services - Manchester

A stage 1 remap is a software upgrade that can be installed through your vehicle’s ECU (electronic computer unit) to improve BHP / Torque. Vehicles are released from manufacturers with limiting software parameters, holding back the true performance capability of your vehicle. Our Stage 1 remap can safely extract vehicle performance providing a noticeable increase in power and torque without any compromise of hardware reliability.

How we perform a stage 1 Remap

All of our ECU calibrations are developed at 117Speed HQ using our state-of-the-art 4-wheel-drive BAPRO dynamometer.

Our calibrations are meticulously refined through several rounds of calibrating and are dyno-tested to ensure precise adjustments provide the result our customer requires from their vehicle, whilst remaining within safe parameters of vehicle hardware limitations, keeping vehicle health at the forefront of every stage 1 remap.

Vehicle diagnostics

We know that not all vehicles are the same due to manufacturer inconsistencies and hardware wear and tear over time.

Before performing a stage 1 remap we perform a full vehicle diagnostics check using tools like OBD2Link and AutoFlash. We scan for fault codes that may not be showing on your dash whilst also carrying out a visual inspection to ensure the hardware is in working order and safe for tuning.

How much bhp does a stage 1 remap add?

With our stage 1 remap you can expect up to a  15-25% increase in power and torque. Improving acceleration with more power lower down in the rev range, quicker throttle response and improved fuel economy.

  • More Horsepower
  • More Torque
  • Improved throttle response
  • Improved engine tractability
  • Improved fuel consumption

Most modern vehicles are fitted with a turbocharger. Remapping a turbocharged vehicle results in increased boost pressure leading to more power and torque making for vast performance improvements from a stage 1 software calibration.

Yes, you need to tell your insurance provider if your car engine has been remapped. In car insurance terms, remapping or chipping is considered a car modification, even if it’s one you can’t actually see. If you don’t inform your insurance provider, it could invalidate your policy.
Your vehicle will still pass its MOT test after a remap. The remap does not affect your MOT.
A car remap will void your engine’s warranty (including the turbo or supercharger), and it may also void your clutch and gearbox warranty too. Most manufacturer warranties will not detect the software upgrades made to the vehicle upon inspection and software can be returned to stock ahead of inspections to avoid that awkward conversation.

A Stage 1 remap is a safe and effective way to improve the performance of your vehicle. The 117Speed team provide full diagnostic services before your vehicle software is calibrated to ensure your vehicle is in good health and safe to remap.
